Increasing death rates in 2020 because of COVID-19 epidemic.

The burden of COVID-19 in low-income and conflict-affected countries was unclear, largely reflecting low testing rates. In parts of Yemen, like Sana’a, reports indicated a peak in hospital admissions and burials during  2020.

Sana’a (Arabic: صَنْعَاء, Ṣanʿāʾ [sˤɑnʕaːʔ], Yemeni Arabic: [ˈsˤɑnʕɑ]; Old South Arabian: 𐩮𐩬𐩲𐩥 Ṣnʿw), also spelled Sanaʽa and Sana, is the capital and largest city in Yemen and the centre of Sanaa Governorate. The city is not part of the Governorate, but forms the separate administrative district of ʾAmānat al-ʿĀṣimah (أَمَانَة ٱلْعَاصِمَة). According to the Yemeni constitution, Sanaa is the capital of the country,
